Pumpkin?

This is an heirloom pumpkin it's supposed to taste like sweet potato but it doesn't have much flavor. Maybe it's not ripe. I don't know. It looks like the pictures in the catalog I ordered the seeds from and it's big. It's the first time I planted this variety and the first one I harvested. It has a nice dry flesh and makes good pie. This Pumpkin made 4 pies.

I cut it in half and put it in the oven and baked it at 350° for about an hour. When the flesh was tender I removed it from the oven. When the pumpkin cooled I scraped it out and put it in the refrigerator.

The next day I made pumpkin pie.

Nevermind my oven... lol. I use it a lot.

Check out my recipe for pumpkin pie.
