This is hot process soap for use after 24 hours.
You will need:
A scale
A Crockpot
A whisk or spoon
Molds or cupcake pan and liners.
And the ingredients in the following recipe.
Soap
7.25 oz Water
3 oz Lye *
7.25 oz Coconut oil
12.75 oz Olive oil
Put water in a crockpot add lye (Important: follow directions! Never add water to lye 💥) ⚠️ The lye water is hot! When the lye water is clear, it is ready to add the hard coconut oil. The hot lye water will melt the coconut oil.
When the coconut oil is melted add the olive oil.
⚠️The lye water is hot! Do not splash! The lye water will give you a chemical burn, even if it is cold! ⚠️
Stir it well. Let it rest. Stir it well. Repeat every 5 minutes (time is not critical) until the mixture is milky yellow. Then turn the crockpot on high and stir every 15 minutes or whenever. The mixture goes through several stages it will look like applesauce then it will break (separate) and foam then in about 15 minutes it will get thick. Now move quickly and fill your molds or 12 cupcake liners, a cupcake baking pan is useful to hold them in place. You can use this soap in 24 hours but the older the soap is the better it is. This soap is soft. Olive oil makes a softer bar.
*Lye is sold in the plumbing section as a drain opener. Look at the back to be sure what you buy is at least 99% sodium hydroxide.
